Monday. Halfway, or. To baker city, or. 53 miles. Two healthy climbs with two short quick descents and the rest of the day gradual uphill through steep dry canyon walls on both sides. We’re definitely in high dessert which will continue for a few days. there’s a heat wave in much of Oregon that somehow avoided us today. Mid 80’s, low humidity, and wind that didn’t pick up until we made camp. Rest day tomorrow then a seven day ride to the ocean.

I haven't been on since last week and have enjoyed looking at your pictures. Don't you love Oregon??!! I know that if I ran into you on the street I don't think I'd recognize you now. Love the beard. Pat Stiffler
ReplyDeleteDad...What are your thoughts about shaving before you come home?? I am not sure my kids are going to recongize you...or they might get really excited that Santa Claus is visiting in July!! Stay safe and well hydrated. Can't believe you are in the home stretch! Never have I been more excited for August to arrive. Love you! Ami
ReplyDeleteso far heat is concentrated along coast and it is HOT! It has been an adventure to recognize you as many have suggested, including a few in this household. Somehow i sense that it's more your 3500 mi. demeanor than the whiskers. david and ann
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Oregon! I'd apologize for the heat but I don't think I'm responsible for it. Plus, it's 100+ in Portland. Hopefully it will cool down as you get closer to the coast.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing you soon.
